Intent on harvesting the captive's e...。1959年夏季近尾的时候，台湾中南一带发生了六十年未遇的大灾难，称之为八七水灾，受灾人数30多万，受灾地区堤防溃决，田园损毁，受灾人民在生活的压力下，不得不向北部的卫星城市迁移，他们憨厚、朴实、刻苦、耐劳、正直。主人公一家人就是他们中的一员，他们点点滴滴的生活写照成为了历史洪流中的沧海一粟。。Richard（莱昂内尔·斯坦德 Lionel Stander 饰）和Albie开着车，Albie的枪走火射中了自己，Richard只能到附近的岛上寻求帮助。岛上住着一对夫妻：George（唐纳德·普利森斯 Donald Pleasence 饰）和Teresa（弗朗索瓦·朵列 Françoise Dorléac 饰）。Teresa淘气爱玩，而George则懦弱无能。两人在Richard的威胁下一起埋葬了死去的Albie，并和Richard一起等待他的老板卡特派来的人来接他。不久，George的老朋友们来岛上看望他，Richard则伪装成他们的园丁。他们和Richard之间的矛盾不断加剧，终于酿成一场血腥惨案...... 本片赢得1966年柏林电影节金熊奖。。
