Jack is seen in all seasons, surviving frugally, passing the time with strange projects, living the radical dream he had as a younger man, a dream he spent two years ...。主要讲述了没落的酒店大亨之子朱一群（文松饰）带着家仆沈莫仁（贾冰饰）逃至奉天城，在一个废旧的戏院内准备重振祖业，巧遇马湖璐（王祉萱饰）、杨思瑞（马牧萱饰）、顾德白（顾宝明饰）、大西（成红饰）、柳三元（田川饰）等人后发生了一系列爆笑的故事。就在饭店众人的生活渐渐步入正轨之时，一场巨大的阴谋也在奉天城里悄然无声地展开……。作为青年导演冉吟啸的第二部作品，《愿江海一直向上流》以重庆为背景，讲述三个没有血缘关系的人之间别样的亲情故事。影片时间跨度长达近一个世纪，记录了两代人，两个家庭的生活轨迹。。
