Ok, folks, this is my last Ishii upload. Totsugeki! Hakata gurentai is his first feature and last 8mm film. Haven't watched it yet myself, but from the looks of it, this is very much reminescent of eighties and nineties v-cinema, sort of like early Miike (only made in 1978). There is considerably more dialogue than in his earlier films, but it doesn't seem too complicated plotw...。It's a timely story about the romantic escapade of a top woman corporate executive, flamboyantly decorated with baroque compositions and provocative emotions, Like Jean Luc Godard making an adaptation of a Harlequin romance.。1939年，失业的英国青年大卫，如同许多来自世界各地的社会主义青年，一起加入一国际组织游击队，为争取民主自由而投入西班牙内战，对抗佛朗哥的独裁暴政。大卫因负伤来到巴塞隆纳，战时血泊中悲惨呼喊的声音，成了他挥之不去的恶梦呓语。他发现自己摇摆于对社会主义的忠诚与新认识的爱人之间，心中的改革梦想却不因远离战场而稍减，最后选择回到前线战友身旁…… 本片曾获96年坎城影展金棕榈奖提名、法国凯萨奖最佳外语片、欧洲影展最佳影片。。
