第四季。1949年初，少奶奶陶素兰撇下年幼的双胞胎女儿心心和爱爱，考取了航空公司侍应生。在新中国成立前夜，她与方杰在共产党员夏莲启发下，参加了震惊中外的“两航起义”，然后飞赴刚刚解放的上海。女儿心心被奶妈收养，爱爱则被父亲带往中国台湾。多年后，已成为民航界业务骨干的素兰与离异的方杰结合，方的女儿慕云与已改名白秋璇的心心都考取了民航乘务员。文革中，素云受到很大冲击，白秋璇也因得罪造反派陈亦雄被发配到苏北农村，女儿高高由慕云照顾。文革结束后，秋璇返回单位，此时的高高早把慕云当成了母亲。又是数年过去了，在中国台湾做空乘的爱爱偶然碰上了姐姐秋璇，陶素兰闻讯大喜过望......。Just over 40 years ago, marriage in China was arranged by the state.
