回春堂药店的掌柜冯老板，绰号道长，正在研发一种可以随意进入梦境，甚至可以控制、修改梦境的药丸。道长将麻香楼的莫大等人作为试验对象，发生了一系列类如梦遇吉泽明步、穿越回明朝的奇异之事。好奇的绿腰也服食了此药，却因为身体的原因陷入无边梦境，道长闻讯告诉大家，要想救回绿腰，必须要大家一起进入梦境，打败多变的女鬼，众人为救同伴携手踏上了梦境之路...。此部金庸電影為大導演張徹執導，製片是蔡瀾，倪匡編劇，片中主線人物包括由傅聲飾郭靖，妞妞飾黃蓉，李修賢飾歐陽克，王龍威飾西毒歐陽鋒，李藝民飾楊康，谷峰飾北丐洪七公，郭追飾老頑童周伯通，顧冠忠飾東邪黃藥師。劇情承接上集，說郭靖與黃蓉來到桃花島，西毒已帶子歐陽克來向黃蓉求婚，黃藥師以考試選婿，郭靖獲勝得娶黃蓉為妻；但老頑童與黃藥師有過節，突將郭靖挾往船中，與洪七公出海；黃蓉追蹤下，錯落歐陽鋒的船上……。This film marks the directorial debut of Robert Benayoun.
