五六十年代曾流行过把风光片包装成故事片的手法，本片就是一个例子。通过一个小孩躲藏在爷爷的气球里遨游欧洲，尽情享受俯瞰艾菲尔铁塔、勃朗峰等名胜，以及猎鹿等壮观的场景。里面还有一个插科打诨的机械师，提供喜剧调料。。Set in 1989, Jake (Harmon), an out-of-work photojournalist who struggles with addiction and a troubled past, takes a job as watchman of a wilderness lodge on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest, alongside veteran handyman Sparky (Granger). Jake sets up a darkroom to develop the photos he shoots, which begin to reveal disturbing premonitions of their future.。
