本片导演罗卓瑶曾任港台电视部编导，此为她导演的第一部爱情轻喜剧。影片取材并不新颖，却以丰富的细节营造出脱离浅薄的喜剧气息，风格流畅而自然，同时也引人思索。剧情讲述山姆张与妻儿已移民加拿大，因自己的申请尚未办妥而独自返港，暂居于简家。简的丈夫也在为移民加拿大而奔波海外，于是两个寂寞的“太空人”遂成为好朋友，Sam和阿珍通过互相倾诉日间的不快，感情日增。两人都失业后，更是同病相怜经过一番理性期的挣扎，他们最后还是情不自禁双双坠人爱河。正当二人如胶似漆相爱之际，Sam的太太和阿珍的丈夭突然回港，拆散了他们。若干年后，Sam与阿珍偶然相遇，发现彼此都没有去加拿大过“安稳”生活。 ……。A private detective helps a prostitute being assaulted, and notices that she is wearing a very unique ring.
