After the relatively low box office takings of 'Intolerance', D. W. Griffith would revisit his epic film three years later by releasing two of the film's interlocking stories as standalone features, with some new additional footage. The first of the two was 'The Fall of Babylon', which depicts the conflict between Prince Belshazzar of Babylon and Cyrus the Great of Persia.。华梅（刘敏饰）、胜男（梁爱琪饰）、红杏（李琳饰）与田琬（王艳饰）是自小一起长大的闺蜜，她们经历迥异，性格不同，如今都迈入了少妇的行列。一天，四姐妹咖啡屋小聚，意外发现华梅的丈夫高建瓴（景岗山饰）与富婆春光（杨青饰）厮混，华梅绝望了，坚决与其离了婚。红杏的丈夫整日忙于工作，对她漠不关心，而胜男与婆婆的关系形同水火，又因房屋问题不得不住在一起，家中就象一个沾火就着的火药桶。田琬再婚进入新的家庭，继女余晨（李若思饰）对这个新妈并不感冒，田琬小心亦亦地维系着与余晨的关系。虽然家家有本难念的经，但四姐妹追求向往美好幸福生活的愿望是相同的……。
