影片根据湾仔码头创始人、有“水饺皇后”之称的臧健和女士真实故事改编。上世纪70年代末，来自山东青岛的臧健和带着两个年幼的女儿投奔丈夫，却被迫流落他乡，为求生存的她只能在湾仔码头卖起水饺。她将如何扛下命运的重重刁难，一步步逆袭人生……。1930年代，第二次国内革命战争时期。绿林首领白莲花（吴海燕 饰）杀死世仇冤家高敬轩，时逢红军团长肖烈（宫喜斌 饰）前来邀她参加红军队伍，联手抵御白军师长高占魁（胡浩 饰）。白莲花仰慕肖烈艺高人胆大，杀掉新婚夫婿——奸细柳飞，毅然率部参加红军。收编白部后，肖烈帮助他们克服了与生俱来的绿林恶习，并在战斗中与白莲花结为伴侣。高占魁趁红军内部分歧，设计离间政委彭炳青（徐阜 饰）与白莲花的关系，分裂红军内部组织。彭中计后，关押了白莲花。期间，肖烈与她永诀。当彭炳青发现自己中敌离间计，后悔不迭，此时白莲花万念惧灰......。A pilots pregnant wife is killed by a band of thugs who break into their home.
