极寒末日，徐易为怀妻子一家当牛做马、找食物、找庇护所，却不想生死存亡之际，反而被妻子一家谋害致死，就连妻子肚子里怀的，也是别人的孩子！。在高原上，气压低、氧气稀薄、动植物稀少，即使在这样的地方也生存着蝴蝶的种群，它们被称作高原蝴蝶。它们生命力极强，以各自独特的本领适应了高原环境，然而，它们却没能逃过气候紊乱、过度放牧等带来的影响。其中，中国唯一的迁徙蝴蝶——金斑蝶，生物钟出现紊乱，而祁连山上的珍贵绢蝶也濒临灭绝。该片跟随蝴蝶专家的脚步，记录环境变化对金斑蝶和绢蝶造成的生命周期及生活习性的影响。。Birdcatcher Esmar and his wife Johanna face eviction from their farm in Gásadalur unless they have a son. Desperation sets in when Johanna gives birth to their third daughter. Pushed to the brink, Johanna is impregnated by another man, a French Captain, and gives birth to a son, known as ‘the birdcatcher’s son’. Everything seems perfect until the French Captain returns.。
