该剧讲述了二十年代的上海，三名集美貌、智慧、胆略于一身的年轻女子组建了女子侦探所，与罪恶展开殊死搏斗，破获了一件又一件匪夷所思的案件的故事。。NBC过去拿下电影《绝地战警2 Bad Boys II》角色Sydney “Syd” Burnett的个人衍生剧试映集《洛城战警 L.A.’s Finest》，但该项目最终没被预订。但是经过制片公司Sony jijidy.com Pictures电视部门的销售后，《洛城战警》以13集首季被有线台Spectrum收归旗下，预定美国时间5月13日首播。 在《绝地战警2》中饰演Syd一角的演员是Gabrielle Union，剧集版将由她继续演出。她是Marcus Burnett（Martin Lawrence饰）的妹妹，亦是美国缉毒局的卧底探员。另外在片中，Sydney与Mike Lowrey（Will Smith饰）是情侣。 《洛城战警》里Syd成了洛杉矶警局的警探，原本可以扔下过去，享受生活的她却可能因为新拍档Nancy McKenna而令事情变得复...。Inspired by W.G.
