娜塔莎年轻富有，这次专门来到新奥尔良市寻找自己失散多年的退伍的父亲。然而她刚踏入这个城市就遭到了抢劫，失业海员赞斯见义勇为帮她打走了匪徒。娜塔莎见赞斯富有正义感，就聘请他为自己寻找父亲，为存够钱重新出海的赞斯欣然答应。 不久，警方找到了被火烧焦了的娜塔莎的父亲。直觉敏锐的赞斯觉得事情不简单，他在现场仔细搜寻，终于发现了被箭射穿的娜塔莎父亲的士兵牌，从而确定了娜塔莎父亲是被人射杀的。赞斯和娜塔莎通过调查，发现了新奥尔良市有一伙暴徒，他们专门找一些无依靠的退伍军人，然后让富人们像猎杀动物一样猎杀他们。赞斯和娜塔莎决心要将这伙冷酷的暴徒绳之于法！。马三爷在一次打劫中得到一封给吴家送的信，里面是张图纸。马三爷逼迫吴老爷说出了其中的秘密是一把鱼肠剑，然后为了得到这把剑就抓了吴太太来威胁吴老爷想办法得到宝剑。此时李家正遇家境困难之时，吴家小姐聪慧伶俐，想出与李家少爷联婚，趁机探入李府寻找宝剑。于是就和丫鬟敏志互换身份，让敏志冒充自己去和李家少爷结婚。终于在新房内挖出了宝剑，在送回吴府前将宝剑掉包。此时假婚之事暴露，并与李家和盘托出。李家少爷李百沛勇敢机智，二人商量后决定将计就计，骗马三爷来李府交换人质，并智取了马三爷的性命。敏志和李百沛二人情投意合，开始了新生活。。Disarmingly realistic in its depiction of the realities of frontier life, Heartland is a strong antidote to the cliches of traditional Westerns. This semi-documentary slice of life is based on the diaries of Elmore Randall Stewart about her days on the Wyoming frontier in the early 20th century. It's a strongly feminist statement about a woman raising her small daughter alone and scrapping for a living by working for a shy Scottish rancher. Director Richard Pearce brings an endearing touch to a film that is helped greatly by the dazzling cinematography of Fred Murphy. Conchata Ferrell and Rip Torn star in this small film that substitutes veracity for a high-powered plot. Pearce worked as a cinematographer on Woodstock and other documentaries before making his directorial debut. Winner of the 1980 Berlin Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival。
